Scuba Diver Course
Not much time and in a hurry to take the diving license? Then, the PADI Scuba Diver certification might be for you.
This course takes less time than the PADI Open Water Diver course, as it covers only three of the five knowledge development sections, three of the five pool sessions and the first two of the four open water dives, leading to limited certification.
Especially if you assume you're essentially diving with a dive guide or you have little time to devote to the patent course, consider becoming a PADI Scuba Diver.
This certification gives you a broad diving experience and it's a great warm up for the Open Water Diver course, which is your ultimate goal.
PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:
- Diving under the direct supervision of a Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or PADI Instructor up to a maximum depth of 12 meters
- Obtain refills, rent or purchase diving equipment and participate in other diving activities, as long as they are under direct supervision required
- Continue their dive training and complete the PADI Open Water Diver course, as well as other specialty courses, such as: Project AWARE and equipment.

Scuba Diver certification opens the doors to the underwater world for anyone who thinks that a course takes too long or is too difficult.
Advance to Open Water Diver when you wish! With less time than the Scuba Diver course requires, you can make the leap, and achieve the Open Water Diver certification: you will start diving independently as many times as you want and can.
What you'll learn
All the fundamentals of diving through the development of knowledge, a set of diving skills in the pool that you will still need in open water diving and to appreciate the underwater world to such an extent that you will want to go back every time you can!
During the course you will learn the knowledge and practice related skills, such as:
- Buoyancy skills including comfortable descents / ascents and underwater breathing.
- Staying warm underwater, the skills to become as hydrodynamic as possible and diving techniques in pairs.
- The underwater environments and aquatic life you are likely to encounter.
- Prevention of common diving problems.
- An introduction to boat diving.

- be 15 years old (or, for the Junior Scuba Diver certification, at least 10 years old)

- Knowledge development (online, with individual study or in the classroom), to understand the basic principles of diving

The cost of the course is around € 199.
This includes the manual, the patent, insurance for diving activities related to the course, the rental of the "heavy" equipment that we will provide you and the access to the swimming pool.
You are responsible for the diving services for diving in the sea (about € 10 for a day) and the fee of 30 € for the annual association with Scubacqua.
The balance of the course is not required at the time of enrollment, just an initial deposit equal to 50% of the course to be done after the first lesson in the pool and the balance before going to the sea.
For the duration of the course "heavy" (and expensive) equipment can be rented from Scubacqua:
we will then give you the tank, the BCD, the regulators, the dive computer, the weight belt.
You will be required to own only your personal equipment (mask and snorkel, boots, fins and wetsuit).
Don't worry, you don't need to be a good notator to be a scuba diver!
The Scuba Diver course has minimum aquatic requirements that consist essentially being able to ... float by moving your legs!
The pool sessions will be held every Tuesday at the Acquatica pool in Turin (Corso Galileo Ferraris, 290):
meeting at 7.45 pm, in the pool from 8.15 pm to 9.45 pm.
There we will learn and perfect all the necessary skills to then be able to immerse ourselves in the sea in complete safety.
Yes, you must have a Medical Certificate for diving.
The wording "for diving" must be explicitly indicated in the certificate.
Yes, there is a theoretical part. At the beginning of the course you will be provided with a manual and a video.
The manual is divided into five chapters, but only the first three are the subject of this course.
At the end of each chapter you will find the "Knowledge Reviews": those are the homework that needs to be filled out and given to us so that we can see if any topics need to be revised.
At the end of the course there will be a short theory test.
